The Impulse of Love

“Love is the sole impulse for creation. No one can swing out into the Universal without love, for the whole universe is based upon it. Love is the greatest power in the Universe, it is the basis and the source of everything.”
– Ernest Holmes

February is the month of love where friends and loved ones send cards, candy, and flowers to each other.

There are many stories of the origins of Valentines Day. One is about Roman priest, Saint Valentine who performed secret weddings against the wishes of the authorities in the third century. He was imprisoned in the home of a noble, he healed his captor’s blind daughter, causing the whole household to convert to Christianity, sealing his fate. Before he was decapitated on February 14, he sent the girl a note signed “Your Valentine.”

Another story of the Valentine’s Day holiday, February 14, when lovers express their affection with greetings and gifts. It has origins in the Roman festival of Lupercalia which celebrates the coming of spring including other activities. At the end of the 5 th century. Lupercalia was replaced by Saint Valentine’s Day.

It is joyous to celebrate a day of love. I propose we can celebrate love in some way every day. The Bible, Love your neighbor as thyself – Mathew 22:35-40.

From Ernest Holmes: “Love is the sole impulse for creation. No one can swing out into the Universal without love, for the whole universe is based upon it. Love is the greatest power in the Universe, it is the basis and the source of everything.”

As we continue our collaboration with Namasté, we have opened the doors of Diversity and Inclusion celebrating our sameness and our differentness dancing with joy expressing the love we have to share within each of us.

Let us continue forward in this month reserved for LOVE into each day not only in collaboration but committing to each other with the Universal Source of Love for a union of Oneness. Each one of us is an individualized expression of God with a desire to be loved and to love. Joyfully we can expand our love throughout our communities and to the world.

Be blest be loved and love on this Valentine’s Day!
